No Distractions

Anyhow, it seems like I've abandoned this blog for a while. Understatement. Lol.

Actually the reason I'm blogging now is because of this very inspiring blind musician I saw just the other day outside of Pasir Ris MRT. Listen to this..



The song is obviously "Mandy" by Barry Manilow (correct me if I'm wrong, I'm too lazy to check the correct title). Anyway, I stayed there for about half an hour watching his performance. Here he is, undistracted..



That voice is so f*cking unbelievable! I'm pretty sure you've encountered at least one of these blind performers here in Singapore. And every time I hear them I'm amazed.

I won't be surprised though that when taken on ratio, the talent pool of blind people is much higher than talent pool of those who are not blind. Though I have no data to back that up, I would attribute it to the fact that these blind people can concentrate much harder and focus intensely, simply because they are not distracted.

That is in contrast to a world what we "normal" people are used to living in. There's so much distraction around us that it's almost impossible to stay in one place, focus on an idea or skill, and work on it.

To be honest, I think these disabled citizens of the world have an unfair advantage over us who take our lives for granted and just waste away everyday. We call ourselves normal. The term has eaten away its own meaning. It's like normal is so uncool lol.

From this I want to drive an important point, that distractions render us useless individuals. Seriously. Shun it. :)

Thanks to the blind guy, I was able to shun all distractions, even for 10 minutes, and blog again. Lol. Take it away Mr Blind sir..
